Examinations
W.I.D.A. offers three separate certification programmes. Additionally W.I.D.A. offers ten grade examinations for dancers which count for the T.C.R.G. and T.M.R.F. examinations.
To become a candidate in the WIDA examination process you must first be a member of the organisation. This does not preclude anyone taking part in our OPEN PLATFORM competitions upon meeting entry criteria that may be required for the different events.
The Step and Ceili-Dance Teacher certificate programmes have both been broken down into four separate parts to make learning to dance and teach Irish Dancing as easy as possible. To be eligible as a fully qualified teacher of either discipline you must be at least 18 years of age when part four of the examination schedules is completed, but can attempt the first three parts of the examinations any time before the candidates 18th birthday.
The four parts of the examination schedule must be attempted in sequence, and a candidate can attempt more than one part at a time.
To be able to be trained for the adjudication certificate candidates must hold both the Step and the Ceili Dance Teacher certificates.
